NSA absent as Buhari meets security chiefs

The National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Major General Babagana Monguno was absent on Monday when President Muhammadu Buhari met security chief at the State House.

Monguno’s absence has sparked speculations that he might have stayed away from the meeting because of his leaked memo in which he accused Buhari’s Chief of Staff Abba Kyari of usurping the powers of the president in security matters.

Present at the meeting with the president included Chief of Defence Staff General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas and Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu.
