Boko Haram insurgents attack Garkida, Chibok

Boko Haram insurgents in five gun trucks have launched an attack on Garkida town in Gombi Local Government of Adamawa State.

Dateline Nigeria learnt that the attack was launched Thursday evening, forcing the residents to flee into the surrounding mountains for safety.

There was also reports that the attack on Garkida was done simultaneously with another one in Chibok, Borno State.

In Chibok, the town that came to limelight with the abduction of schoolgirls in 2014, the insurgents killed six people and razed Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN).

The church, also known as Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, is located at Pemi ward in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.

The authorities have yet to comment on it, but it was learnt that the attack was repelled by security agents.
