The Court of Appeal in Kano has ordered a retrial in the case of a singer Yahaya Sharif Aminu who was condemned to death by hanging by a Sharia court for blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad.
The court also acquitted a 10-year-old boy Mati Abdu who was sentenced to 10 years in jail for the same blasphemy.
While Sharif was accused of commiting the blasphemy through his song which he circulated, Abdu committed his offence at Farsa Village of Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State
