Bauchi police arrest second suspect over ritual incident

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested the fleeing suspect who allegedly took part in the genital mutilation of a young girl in Jama’are Local Government Area on the 30/12/2020.

The fleeing suspect Abdulkadir Wada Haladu 19yrs of Chikamidari area of Jama’are has voluntarily confessed to the crime, the police said.

“Details of the investigation will be communicated soon,” DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, said in the statement.

Dateline Nigeria had earlier reported how Adamu Abdul Ra’uf of Gandu Jama’are, 20, was arrested for allegedly cutting off the private part of a 6-year-old girl for ritual.

The police said the arrest followed a report to the police by the child’s aunt after she was found in a pool of blood.
