Dozens of people have fled their houses in ‘Yan Ɓuki village of Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State following an attack by bandits, which left seven people killed.
A resident of the community, who is among those who fled to Gusau, the state capital, told the BBC that the gunmen stormed the village around 12 noon Thursday shooting indiscriminately to scare the people.

He said the attackers went from house to house, forcing out about people, including women and children, young and old, before taking them into the bush, even as they burnt houses and properties.
The man said they narrowly escaped and got vehicle that took them to Gusau. ”Apart from those they abducted, they killed seven people, including my brother Abdullahi.
“They went into his room and forced him out, but they shot him at the back and his throat for trying to resist,” said the man who does not want his name revealed.
The Zamfara State Police Command is yet to comment on the attack.
