Bandits have killed no fewer than 16 people in Bakali village in Fatika District, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A member of the community, Alhaji Sani Bakali, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, said the bandits were over 100. They stormed the community on Tuesday around 4:00pm and set fire to many bags of grains, vehicles and motorcycles.
All the 16 victims are reportedly members of the same family and were locked up in a room and set ablaze, Bakali said.
Chairman of Giwa local government Kaduna has paid a condolence visit to people of Bakali village.
The police have yet to comment.
