B/Haram: 6 Nigerians jailed in UAE can appeal ruling – FG

The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has said that the six Nigerians jailed in the United Arab Emirates for wiring $782,000 to Boko Haram can appeal their case to the Supreme Court.

Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu got life imprisonment, while Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa, got 10 years each after losing their case at the Court of Appeal.

“They can approach the Supreme Court if they so desire, as we continue to appeal to Nigerians all over the world to desist from crime and criminality,” Dabiri-Erewa said.

However, families of the jailed Nigerians told the Daily Trust that their members were framed up because they had been doing legitimate Bureau de Change business in the UAE before their arrest.
