A female bandit, Zainab Abubakar, who was recently arrested by the Nigerian army in Kaduna, is helping security agents with useful information, sources told Dateline Nigeria in Abuja.
Zainab was arreted at Ungwan Salaha in Mararaban Jos in Igabi local government area of Kaduna State and a video clip of her dancing with an AK 47 rifle was found on her phone, Army Operations Media Coordinator Col Aminu Iliyasu had said in a recent statement.
“The information she has given thus far will help the military operations against bandits in a major way,” one of the sources told Dateline Nigeria on phone.
The source, who will not say where the female bandit is being held, added that “we are already on the trail of many bandit leaders and you will hear the good news soon.”
Hundreds of live have been lost to bandit attacks particularly in Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto, and Niger states, with many farmers forced to abandon their communities.
