The Anambra State Commissioner of Police M.B Kuruyas, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, has presented the families and next of kin of Police Officers who paid the supreme price serving the country and Ndi Anambra to Governor Willie Obiano at the Anambra state Governor’s lodge, Onitsha.
Governor Obiano, on receiving them, commiserated with the Nigeria Police, the bereaved families and subsequently presented cash gift to the dependants of the deceased officers.
The CP, in his vote of thanks, described the Governor as a humane personality and thanked him for the gesture.
He reassured the good people of Anambra State that the police command in collaboration with other security agencies will not rest until the perpetrators of the heinous crimes are brought to book.
Also in attendance at the event were the Commanding Officer of the Naval Outpost Onitsha, Navy Capt. Adekunle Kamal Okeniyi, the State Comptroller of the Nigerian Correctional Service Anambra, Bar Emmauel Anekwe Nwakeze, HRH Igwe Chris Oranu of Omor amongst others.
