Adamawa approves N650m for completion of Mararaba Dumne-Hombo rural roads

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Wednesday presided over the State Executive Council Meeting and approved N650m as counterpart funding for the second phase of Mararaba Dumne to Hombo rural roads through the Ministry of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development.

The meeting was held at Council Chambers, Government House, Yola.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy Dr Umar Garba Pella disclosed this while briefing journalist immediately after the council meeting said they will remain committed to the programmes and policies that will be for the betterment of the People.

Dr Garba revealed that the Counterpart funding for Mararaba Dumne-Hombo road was released to the Ministry of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development for completion in a bid to ease the movement within the area.

The Commissioner added that the Council approved over N344m to Wainus Nigeria Limited for the establishment of Adamawa Geographical Information System (AGIS) and wall parameters fencing at the Ministry of Land and Survey, and AGIS to be executed in 18 months.

He also stated that the Council has approved and awarded the Supply and Installation of Equipment for Molecular Laboratory in Specialist Hospital Yola, at the cost of N218m to Warjis Nigeria Limited.

The Council also clenched a resolution after considering the memo on the need for Adamawa to have a First Class Laboratory that can respond to contagious and infectious diseases among others.

Dr Garba further disclosed that the council discussed the report of the State Government’s exploits in Lagos, showcasing the State on Agribusiness with a view to lure to investors into the State, being the first to go into the capital market with agribusiness optimistic that it will change impulse about the State and the entire North and also improve on IGR.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy Dr Umar Garba Pella said the council acknowledged the effort of the State Government on the programme and called good people of Adamawa to inject and take advantage of ADAS so that the State will wax strong economically for the good of its citizens.
