Abuja-Kaduna train resumes operation before Sallah

...ministry plans to increase the frequency from four return trips daily to seven

The Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi says train services on the Abuja-Kaduna rail corridor to resume before Eid-el-Kabir.

He urged the Nigerian Railway Corporation to ensure preventive and protective COVID-19 measures are put in place before reopening of railway services.

This was disclosed on the twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Transformation. The ministry also disclosed that new rates as approved now will be 3000 for economy, 5000 for business class and 6000 – Executive class.

Meanwhile, the ministry has announced ge test-running of new locomotives and coaches for Abuja-Kaduna Rail, ahead of deployment for service.

It added that the plan is to increase the frequency from 4 return trips daily to 7, on this line.
