Abba Kyari: Presidency rules out condolence visits

The late chief of staff to the president, Mallam Abba Kyari, has been buried at the Gudu cemetery in Abuja.

But the presidency said there would be no such ceremonies as condolence visit in observance of the protocol put in place for the burial of Coronavirus victims by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Federal Ministry of Health.

Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu, who said this in Abuja, said “Well-meaning friends, family members and the general public are encouraged to pray for the repose of Abba Kyari’s soul.”

Personalities that attended the burial of Abba Kyari included former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mele Kolo Kyari, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Ali Pantami, presidential spokesman Garba Shehu and many others.
