A/Court concludes work on 2019 election cases

All election cases terminating at the Court of Appeal have been concluded, the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) told President Muhammadu Buhari.

The president disclosed this on Tuesday on his twitter handle, adding that that he was briefed on the 2019 elections by the electoral body.

“I reiterated my commitment to free, fair & credible elections; Nigerians must be able to freely vote for candidates of their choice,” the president said.

Dateline Nigeria reports that the president had, in a letter addressed to Nigerians on New Year Day, said he won’t be standing in election again.

But Pastor Tunde Bakare has called on the president to influence the choice of his successor in 2023.
