Billionaire businessman and philanthropist Bill Gates has described the decision to halt funding to the Word Health Organisation (WHO) during the coronavirus global crisis as dangerous as it sounds.
The co-chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation said this in a tweet on Wednesday.
Though Bill Gates did not mention an name, it was widely seen as a response to decision by President Donald Trump who accused the global body of failing in its duty.
“Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds.
“Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever,” he tweeted.
