The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the use of the National Identification Number (NIN) as a prerequisite for r the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) until 2021.
“NIN is suspended for 2020 registration. Candidates are to only send their names to 55019 to create profile. No need for NIN for 2020 registration,” the board said in a posting on its twitter handle.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who disclosed this in Abuja said the decision to suspend the process is coming on the heels of criticisms about the timing of the new policy by the examination body and the difficulty in obtaining the NIN.
